Offshore Technology Conference

Texas State University | Brand Design.

Problem

The Offshore Technology Conference is a offshore drilling conference held annually in Houston, TX. It draws professionals from around the world to discuss the newest technology and innovations in the field. Their branding and visuals can be very confusing though which can negatively impact the information they are giving out.

Morphological Approach

Approach

The approach to create a simple and clean approach to better showcase the complex nature of offshore drilling. In such a complex and technical field, their branding needs to be simplified, yet still conceptual to show their field off in the best light. The color palette should also convey the offshore drilling sector, the ocean, oil, and engineering.

 Further Investigation

To continue to expand the OTC brand, I would develop the rest of the desktop website and work to develop an app that participants could use while at the conference. Also with COVID-19, many conferences are moving to purely virtual platforms to reduce contact. Further designs would include ways that OTC could also go virtual and still have their conference.
