Problem

In today’s modern world, no one is connected to their clothing. According to The Guardian, one in three women consider a garment old after wearing it once or twice. It’s bought from fast fashion retailers, then thrown into a drawer never to be worn again. Clothing isn’t seen as a long term investment, and Thread Expressions strives to change that.

Approach

Thread Expressions approaches the fast fashion issue by designing high quality embroidery designs for clothing. Each kit comes with a garment, information, and notions to create their next fashion statement piece. They go for a high fashion personal look through icons, imagery, and type. In addition to the visual design, its packaging strives to be eco friendly and mimic retail stores.

 Further Investigation

For the future, I would like to go in and design the actual patterns for the clothes that would come with the kits. This would include the artwork, template, and instructions that would be folded and put into the premade envelope. Promotional materials and ads would also be great additions to spread brand awareness and the mission to make more meaningful clothing.
